This may be the reason for the confusion over the former Norwegian BRAEMAR 1953 which came to the Philippines in August/Setember 1975 as THE PHILIPPINE TOURIST. This vessel was deleted from LR in 1979 as presumed broken up, but was recently depicted in Sea Breezes as well and kicking as late as June 1981. And with the same name as the formerFAIRSKY..

Very sad sight. As Fairsky she was a pioneer in cruising out of Sydney. Fond memories for me.

Tony, this is a rare find! I have never seen shot of her after her fire.

Suggestion: could you please title the shot as PHILIPPINE TOURIST as per the conventions of this website?

She caught fire on 3/11/'79 and arrived at Hong Kong for breaking on 27/5/'80, so this shot would have been taken in late 1979/early 1980.

thanks again for posting this one!

Brgds.
Ralph
