Description:

Looks like a naval ship even the colour, but the name and port of register are painted not in a neat way, flying the Swedish flag. Observed and photographed in Malta 23-9-11. Ex-KBV-172 of the Swedish coast guard, now a dive support vessel having been sold to civil use after a long time laid up.

The SKEDSVIK photo was the first picture I put on the site exactly 9 years ago today ( on 23-9-2011) now 18221 additional photos have been added.
I wonder what happened to the SKEDSVIK, is she still in service, or has been scrapped?
Hope to add more photos and at least get to celebrate 10 years as a member.
Thanks to all my friends all over the world for all the help and sincere friendships throughout these years.
keep safe
best regards

This was a former Swedish Coast Guard vessel transfered to the Swedish Navy as diver support vessel. Sea keeping qualities less than stellar it was paid of in the early years of this century and sold to a private company. It's been laid up since then until recently, I spotted it personaly n Oskarshamns harbour as late as early June this year. Surprised it got sold after being laid up for almost tem years.
