This is one of the Spinningdale class 87ft "pocket" side trawlers. The John Lewis shipyard at Torry in Aberdeen between 1968 and the late 1970's there were over 20 built in this class.

The Glenelg used to work out of Aberdeen fishing around the Shetland Islands and the fishing grounds from 20 to 120 miles east of Aberdeen. She became a pair trawler ( thats why the starboard quarter has been opened up , compare to the photo's I have of the David John A169 which technically is a slightly different version of this class and has the starboard quarter covered in ).

I'lll ask my father which company this ship used to work for when I see him over the weekend.
