Strange to think my wife& I went on board in Long Beach, some 25 years later.(1985 or so) The lifeboats were in a terrible state.
(Note the patches in the Dirk Septer photos.)

As Shaun says: Well worthy of preservation: She had a most eventful WWII history.

Thanks to Dirk,I was also reminded of the Russian Submarine which is also on display at Long Beach. Brought back a lot of memories.

The "Spruce Goose" The largest Seaplane ever built, by Howard Hughes is on display there too....well worth a visit....if you are passing...)

Yeah 1960 ... that's the year I left London and UK after 3 years lived at ....... therefore, I well remember and recognize all the type of these cars seen in the two rows at foreground of this outstanding & beautiful photo.
