MattyBoy I hope you jest about the searchlight! Its a fully stabilized type 984 radar and was a 3D S band system used for both ground controlled interception and as a secondary early warning system. It was the most sophisticated naval radar of its era. Because of its weight 30+ tons and fitted high up it became too heavy for ships other than Eagle, Hermes and Victorious.

While a good looking vessel after the rebuild, a very expensive and not long lived venture! mrdot.
