The 1964 Warnowwerft built "X" type RUDOLF BREITSCHEID was photographed passing Portishead, outward bound from Avonmouth, on 28th March 1969.

in the 1980's the ship was converted into a "heavy metal carrier",and stripped of cargo handling gear, but on 24 Septmeber 1988 was wrecked on Klaipeda mole during a regular voyage from Klaipeda to Rostock with a steel cargo; it is reported in Miramar that the forepart was towed to Hamina for breaking.
