Storm off Carolinas on October 29. Sail yacht (name unknown) recued by tender from NORWEGIAN GEM while returning to NewYork from Bermuda. Thanks to Bill L. and Ed for the photos. Included US Coast Guard aircraft. All went well. Yacht often hidden from behind 20 foot waves.

correct, but it is also a fact that for example the United States Coast Guard makes over 80% of the rescue and search mission because of amateur sailors who think they can brave a storm. What is for a 600 footer an easy go is for a sailing vessel already a good storm and unfortunately a lot peoples do not even think about that until they facing the storm.

This photo reminds me of a captain I once sailed with who remarked that whenever he went to sea he always followed the "six-hundred-foot rule", which states: "Never go to sea in anything under six-hundred feet long".
