THIS PHOTO WAS SHOTTED BY A FRIEND WHO WORKS IN A NEWSPAPER AS PHOTOGRAPHER.
HE WAS ON THE TOP OF THE BURELA´S PORT QUAY, ON THE LATE DAYS OF JANUARY 2005.
IT WAS A STRONG NW GALE, AND WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO ENTER IN THE BURELA´S PORT.
I WAS A FISHERMAN IN THE GREAT SOLE BANKS SHIPS AND IN THE CANTABRIAN BOTTOMS FISHING VESSELS.
I WONDER THAT YOU CAN EXCUSE MY BAD ENGLISH EXPRESSION.

Well what can I say , but WOW the whole series of photo's are impressive. Talk about "catching some surf" !!!!! I've seen smaller fishing boats surf down waves before ( always dangerous incase of being broached , turned broadside to the waves and sunk tho ) but never a vessel of that size. I'm willing to bet that this is common in certain sea states and wind directions for that port and the skipper would have taken it all in his stride. Bet the first time was scarey tho lol.

Keep them coming , very well done.

Were you working on another fishing vessel as Praia Da Marosa was passing by your stern?

Wow, I really like the general move conveyed by this photograph: the trawler seems to be carried away by the sea!

Best Regards!
Romain.
