Thank you all for nice comments, and for an interresting
debate about taste.
Kind regards,
Roar

Bob
you don,t like americans much,.,do you :-)

@Bob: and not a lot of americans know that Freightliner is owned by Diamler-Benz. along with Detroit Diesel!

A terrific shot anyway! Prefer the LOFOTEN, but still like the "Beast" too! Each has it's own charm.

Manos: as an ex (as well as other occupations)-trucker, give me a big Mack any time, rather than a Maserati! Especially one with a (French) Renault Magnum cab over it. French Renault owns Mack. Not many Americans know that!

Bob, we were not moaning, just meaning.

True Bob, compared with the other floating-loaves-of-bread-just-prior-to-slicing, most Costa ships look somewhat better, especially the older ones.
Compared though to some modern good-looking proper ships, like Blue Zephyr (IMO 8902357) [http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1439714] or Kiso (IMO 8704406) [http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=285650] they too appear as the floating blocks of flats they are.
It's like comparing a Mack truck to a Maserati Quattroporte; efficient but hardly an object of desire.

Notwithstanding the views of certain moaning old fogeys, I think this and most of the other Costa cruise ships are quite good-lookers. So there - and I don't care what you living-in-the-past people think!

"Quite good-lookers...." That's rather damning with faint praise isn't it?

A good contrast shot between a good looking coastal vessel and a mega monster! yes, beauty & the beast! mrdot.

Thanks Clive.
I guess the inside looks is more important than the outside, regarding the Beasts.

Dare I say Beauty and the Beast......?
It is certainly a striking photo of comparisons.
