Description:
WHITTIER VICTORY, here photographed by William Schell at Norfolk, Va. on 3rd May 1969, was retained in the U.S. Reserve fleet, it appears being brought into coastal use during the Vietnam War and then laid up again. The ship's final voyage was to Tuxpan where she arrived on 14.10.93 for breaking.

We delivered 500 lb bombs to Sattihip Thailand for US
Air Force B-52's during the Vietnam War.
Ship was FAST, and well made. Great Old Fashioned US
Quality.
Turbine engines, turbine forced draft fans, hp evaps, dc generators and "D" or "Senious Header" boilers.
What a pleasure to run this ship.....
