Description:

The John Readhead, South Shields, built CONSTANTINOS, owned by Congroup Maritime (Christos Contoyannis) was photographed at Avonmouth by the late R.M.Parsons in early August 1974.

Her funnel marking was clearly derived from that of her original owners, Strick Line, for which she had operated as KARAGHISTAN from 1957 to 1973.

In 1977 her management was transferred within the Christos Contoyannis Group to Tristar Marine Management of Piraeus, she was renamed ADMIRAL.C and her funnel colours repainted appropriately.

Sadly, on a voyage from Antwerp to Jeddah, her steering failed on 13th September 1978 in heavy weather and she grounded in a position 36.53N/21.40E, broke her back two days later and sank on 3rd December 1978.
