Description:

Built at Chester PA in 1945 as T-2 tanker FORT CASPER
Renamed ATLANTIC EXPORTER in 1946 and WANG HUNTER in 1946.
Renamed TRANSNORTHERN in 1960. Converted to a bulk carrier with a new mid-section built in Germany,and renamed INGER in 1962. Sold for scrapping in India and arrived at Alang 95/09/08. Photo taken in New Orleans,La 92/04/05 by Norm Eakins from my collection

She was built for service in world war 2, hence the small windows.

Standard T2 tanker wheelhouse was like that - this one was raised during the conversion, presumably as moved aft.

Sailed aboard her as an oiler. By far my favorite ship. She was the last of kind
