And therefore I deleted all my fotos from the casualty of TYUMEN 2 with over 10 000 Hits, there was not a clear view from the ship, bow, stern, mast cut off.

From the comments below I'd say there should be room for both types of photo.

Shipspotting photos which provide a clear view of the ship's outward appearance are completely different to nostalgic on-board crew shots showing people, small areas of deck or cargo ops. We cater for the former, there are other websites which cater for the latter.

Pictures like this are fascinating and interesting and give us a far greater impression of life when ships such as this were 'in their prime' - much more so than a sterile, unobstructed view, of a ship at sea.

My 10 fotos from the old HAPAG liner Trier were the onliest on site, but this does not protect them for the delition.

It seems that this is the only photo of this ship on site, so despite it not meeting site standards, I personally have not recommended it for deletion.

Hi Juergen
don´t worry: in some cases they are right, somtimes not. Overall they keep the balance. Some of my pics were deleted and I cannot understand!

Derek, my old 50 year old fotos from the TRIER had also historic value, but were deleted.

I for one will not recommend it for deletion.
We are more flexible these days and this is of historic value I feel. Others may differ of course.

best regards
Derek

Andreas, I think they will delete the foto because it does not comply to the site standards as they deleted my old fotos from the HAPAG ship TRIER.
"Full ships only. Foreground obstructions must not restrict the view of the ship."
