That is correct, if it would be a HSDG ship,,then it should have a Santa ..... name. Guess the world stays interesting on that.

Hard to argue with that. Only thing against it to me is that they list "Santa Rosa" on their website and Equasis show them as ship managers but with "Belmonte" there is no mention and Equasis do not either

IMO number : 9478999
Name of ship : SANTA RITA
That vessel is listed as managed by RUDOLF A OETKER KG.
Rudolf Oetker company is the main owner of HSDG, below a link to that ship. looks to me same colors,, or ?

I wondered about that but the red seems too dark and too deep for Hamburg Sud and the Japanese companies seem to keep their chartering more amongst themselves of so is the impression I get. Unfortunately Hamburg-Sud do not appear to give a fleet list on their site which might have helped. A possiblity to keep in mind though

Hi Neale, confusing is that the very same funnel colors are also used by Hamburg-Sued, (HSDG) in Germany. To my knowledge, but I am not sure,,they have also a few bulkers.

Photos back to 30.12.2008 show the same funnel. You have the right company, in business since 1956. Problem is most of their ships seem to be under charter. Container Ships with Kawasaki, one bulker with Sanko, one not known but different funnel anyway being blue with a white "S" so no connections found.Nitta could be trading on their own account with her, otherwise an unknown charter all this time. Without a sighting of the same funnel on another ship it cannot be given to anyone except the owner at this point I fear
