5376997 is correct IMO number for MALOLO. She was built in 1927 by William Cramp & Sons at Philadelphia and existed until 1977 when broken up at Eleusina near Piraeus as VASILISSA FREIDERIKI (commonly called QUEEN FREDERICA). So for many years she had seven digit number.

The poster must be very old to have taken this photo himself! (No photo credits to suggest he didn't))

One more thing: the date of the picture can't be 1939, as she was rebuilt and renamed MATSONIA in 1937. This shot was taken between 1927 and 1937. Maybe 1929?

The start of an extremely shipshape and well built quartet of American shipbuilding prowess! Matson line had some very good looking ships in this period! mrdot.

Sweet!!! Could I kindly ask you to put only the name of the vessel in the name field, not additions like "S.S" or "M.V."? Cheers and keep up the good work!
