Yes,I think I have something to tell about this vessel. Before all she was a sea boat really one. I was 16 year old when sign on her as a mess-room boy, late as a deck boy. Well I sped fully eight months on her and during my sea time there were legion of firemen signing off and the other joining on her the change took place almost at every port of call.
She was coal burning steamer and was my firs ship that still keep sailing in my memories. Then there was the storm at North Sea, she took the weather well and saved our lifers in those January days of 1963, even there were sinking ships, small and large ones off the coast of Hollan. We were luck have a real sea boat, wet but remained afloat anyway. Rest in peace after stormy seas. |
