In 1929 this was a modern cargo vessel. Owner Osaka Shosen Kaisha Company placed it on the Japan-Australia (Brisbane) trade for a long time.
- Len. 60 m
- Engine B&W airless injection diesel with 3600 hp
- Travelling rate 15 knots
- Max. speed ~ 17 knots
- 4 broad hatches
- 12 Laurence Scott electrical winsches
- refrigerating chamber with up to 250 tons of perishable products
- estimated cargo capacity 8700 tons

Gordy, a superb image and such a graceful vessel too.
I cannot help but compare with Jürgen's latest photo series of the starkly functional 'Oceanic', here:-
