I travelled half way around the world to sail on this ship (and it was a worthwhile experience). Whereas I made no attempt to fly that enormous distance in order to sail on Fairstar.

I remember being amazed at the time that the old FAIRSTAR was being replaced by an even older vessel! Of course P&O was kind of stuck with her, after her sale to Regency Cruises folded. She would have become the REGENT ISLE if Regency hadn't folded in '95.
