WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Inbetween two heavy rain showers, Hamburg Süd’s CAP FINISTERRE make a fine sight, coming up the river Elbe into Hamburg on Thu, December 15th 2005. Only recently, she received a new layer of red paint and so the vessel almost looks like new. Built by Lübeck’s Flender Werft in the late 80ies and early 90ies, CAP FINISTERRE and her sisters have become true classics on the Hamburg-South America run. Despite the introduction of HamSüd’s massive new 5.500-TEU “Monte” ships in 2005, the distinctive “Caps” are still the “true” flagships of the Southern Atlantic – at least in eyes of many a photographer and shiplover. (It will surely take a while to get used to HamSüd Ships without cranes, for a start…) For more ship-pictures from Hamburg and Northern Germany visit my website at www.jantiedemann.de and check out www.shiplovers.de, too.
