ANNA NERY vs.PRESIDENTE DEODORO Collision occurred on October 13th of 1963, and not 1961. Edson Lucas's position is correct: 25 miles off Brazilian coast and certainly not near Haifa. ANNA NERY was returning from Haifa and tanker PRESIDENTE DEODORO was just leaving Brazil with full cargo of oil for Amsterdam. Two people died (a steward and a passenger). ANNA NERY returned into a service in mid-1964

That makes sense now, but still impressive they actually decided to repair it.

A bit of info from the web:
"In the autumn of 1963 she get a collision with the Brazilian tanker Presidente Deodoro near Haifa. She sustained extensive damage and repairs lasted more than one year"

I seriously doubt she was repaired and returned to service in a month. More likely she was patched up temporarily and towed away to be permanently repaired.

Collision was in 1963.

Edson, are you sure about the date of the accident? She wasn't even in service yet in 1961. And yes, impressive that so much damage was repaired so quickly!

And in a month?
