I don't know if this has been mentioned before but most of the Dover-Calais ferries have this so called "Cow Catcher", it is for lining up to berth bow up at Calais, at Dover it is the reverse, they back in stern first.

Yes, and continues the 'D' series of names after D-Class vessels Delft, Dover and Dunkerque Seaways.
