Jacob launched from Grenaa Shipyard after renovation, and waiting to be shipped to Aarhus ..

JAKOB is built in full-welded steel construction and is, so far as known, the oldest full-welded vessel in Denmark. It was built as a Small Tug 252 to U.S. army, and tow the boat crossed the Atlantic during the war to be used in the invasion of Normandy in June 1944. After the war it was sold to Belgium, where the port of Aarhus bought it in 1952 and was in function to 1986 ..

In 1973 it was loaded, a new B & W Alpha engine of 990 hp. Jacob was originally with the steam engine. The Fund for Jacob's conservation owns Jacob.

Jacob is now approved for 25 persons and will be sailing harbour tour in Aarhus ..
