We cruised in 1987 on this ship to Jamaica, Montego Bay, Grand Cayman. It was really in bad shape. When did it die?

There was a pre-war Stockholm which would have had a similar profile, but suffered mulitude disasters! mrdot.

She was an awful long way off being a sister ship to Stockholm! Stockholm as built was a single funnelled 11,700gt 395 passenger liner whereas Gripsholm was a twin funnelled 23,000gt 740 passenger liner.

Emmanuel, not quite a sistership, the STOCKHOLM was a very different looking vessel. The KUNGSHOLM of 1953 did look slightly more similar to the GRIPSHOLM/REGENT SEA.

If I am not mistaken she is a sister ship to the STOCKHOLM which collided with the ANDREA DORIA and caused her eventual sinking.

Another one of the marvelous classic vessels that used to pass under the lions gate bridge, I used to try and avoid the shadow of the bridge deck if possible! mrdot.
