Description:
With piracy on the increase, this photograph of England's greatest pirate ship made me chuckle.
And realise what hypocrite's we are in the west.
Western piracy was always about greed, modern piracy though deplorable is about poverty first, greed second.
A replica of GOLDEN HIND, Francis Drake's ship at Bristol circa 1986 , photo by a good friend late Jim Crissup.
I think the first international pirate, still if you bought back the goodies the Queen gave you a knighthood !
The Spanish however no doubt took the view as a former British Queen was known to utter 'We are not amused'
To be fair the Spanish could fight back, unlike in most cases today.
