Oh dear ! Denis has not been taking his chill pills. Thanks for all your comments guys, especially the very positive aspect of yours, Mr. Dot.

At least, Denis, you think it's "intelligent". I haven't started to work out what that means yet because I am still trying to get my head round what you meant when you commented that NYKSUND was "accurate"! (lol)
Mr Dot: I note you nearly managed to resist negative comment. Well done! Keep on trying!

I was going to resist any negative comment, but from astern this vessel is monumentally ugly, nevertheless, a very good pic! mrdot.

I still look forward to witness this one in Flaam.

Ugly intelligent cattle carrier posing as riggingless 18th century battleship... pathetic.

Few will disagree with you, Cornelia, but I suspect you will need more than a 1 euro coin to take this to wherever you wish !

:-D A most amusing reply, Don! Stange game: 22 grown-up men in short trousers chasing an inflated big bladder...

It looks like a SHOPPING CHART :-) :) :-)

Arjan and Jens, Thank you for your observations and kind comments. I would have replied earlier but I was watching your respective countrymen kicking an inflated pig bladder on a lawn that even Celebrity Cruises would be proud to have on their Solstice Class.

I've always liked the unique look of the Grand-class because of the shopping trolley handle. The view from above there must be marvelous ...
But trolley handle or not, excellent photo, Don!

Yes The Grand Princess is already amputated and without the 'handle'it looks a bit better but it is stil a strange aftership shape.Nice pic Don.
Best Regards,
Arjan.

Azipod and Stefan, I thank you for your comments. Modification of this class has already begun and Crown Princess is an example of this.

By the way.... Nice picture.

I tell you what they think: We build a ship that is cool for the cruise-passengers. Let's not think about the outside world. I belive as a passenger you will love the balcony cabins at the aft and also the "handle" got some nice views from upthere. For the bridge wing i must say, this is the worst angle for that. Every other angle the Bridge looks just fine. Years back when they build it, it looked quite amazing to get a ship that big with those new features. So at that time it has been alright, but now out of time and they do remove the "handle" from the ship sooner or later. I think one remove has already been done.

Edit

Whatever were they thinking when they designed that? "Lets design a ship so ugly that people will keep talking about it for years..." Both the 'handle' and even the bridge look like after-thoughts. Thanks for the photo.
