Mmmm, A few fair comments on this one & although not the prettiest conversion in order to see over a stack of containers....it's practical I suppose.(Just a shame it cheapens the overall result!)

Excellent photo Captain.
Nothing surpasses the performance of this style tug,and the dedicated people that man them, on our 2500 mile "Stream" they put a lot of food on peoples table world wide.I like ships to, especilaly the oldies from Gordy,Bob,Chris,Malcolm, and others, you know the ones without seats on the bridge.

Don't blame this one on the U.S. I can find no record of this boat coming from the U.S., so is more than likely a South American product, probably Argentine.

Denis
of ocurse they are no 1 in that matter,,they have by far the most inland tugs and pushers world wide. But you can hardly blame (also when that is fashion) the US that the companies who own them in that area around the rio parana make them even more ugly with their conversions. Kind of far stretched, or ? :-)

Ted, I've seen a load of such ugly pusher tugs & converted-to-pusher-tugs, mostly from you, mostly from US. I've also seen much better looking - Russian - pusher tugs. Don't want to start arguing, I do have taste in ships.
Captain Ted on Jun 16, 2012 12:16 (11 months ago)
Denis,, that may be,sure not beuaty queen, but I am pretty sure that the way she looks now she was not always, the fly-bridge seems to be added. In the US you don,t find inland tugs like this. You find there seagoing pushers, this is not a pusher in that sense
and don,t forget, it does not go by beauty but by performance. See also nowadays pax vessels, by comfort etc best ever,,by view they should all be scrapped

US is #1 for the amount of ugly pusher tugs per country!
