As the Canadian Coast Guard ship "Simon Fraser" this ship performed a circumnavigation of N. America, circa 1986, commencing at Halifax, N.S., thence to the Panama Canal, Bering Strait, and the North West Passage, re-tracing the steps of the RCMP patrol boat "St. Roch", the first ship to circumnavigate North America. The Master of Simon Fraser was Capt. Bob Mellis. She appears to have been abandoned with the conversion uncompleted.
