Bhavnagar is a district in South-Eastern Gujurat covering an area of over 9940 km˛. Alang is a location within the district of Bhavnagar. If you Google search 'Alang' you will see that the shipbreakers in the area quote their address as, Alang, Bhavnagar.

@ primedude,

Alang lies about 40 km S of Bhavnagar, the anchorage of Alang lies in front of Gogha, Bhavnagar is only reachable through a small and shallow canal and has a tidal gate.
I worked there with the DMS Falcon for 6 weeks and never saw any sign of ship breaking in Bhavnagar.

The 'AIS information' is correct, the 'port history' isn't
Fergal Clohessy on Jun 20, 2012 09:28 (12 months ago)
correct? I did not know AIS could foresee the future

Alang is in Bhavnanagar, so the Port history Destinataion shown by Airnav/shiptrax is correct.
