Appears to be the funnel of Sargeant Marine Inc of Boca Raton, Florida see http://sargeant.net/asphalt_shipping.asp though there is nothing on the website to confirm my theory. Most of their "Asphalt" named ships appear in the colours of managers Chronos Shipping Co. Ltd. but some have these bands with the star above and in one case [Asphalt Commander] the star is angled which could be based on the sleeve insignia of a Commander in the USN. The founder Harry Sargeant was en ex naval officer but I do not know what rank. Maybe the other stars are erect so as not to be identical. |
