At Trafalgar 200th anniversary review at Spithead, June 2005. USS Saipan was a late addition as replacement for the nuclear powered carrier USS Carl Vinson which had an extension to her Gulf duties. USS Saipan was the only US ship to take part, such was the Gulf demands on US warships.
