Description:

French chem/oil tanker CHASSIRON suffered explosion off Hossegor, France, 13 June 2003. The CHASSIRON was on a ballast voyage from Bayonne to Donges when an explosion ripped through one of the aft tanks, sadly killing one crew member. The vessel returned back to Bayonne under its own power. The photo was taken 2 days later.
