Hi Tony
what exactly is the function of a hospital launch?, the only similar though remotely that I can remember were naval harbour launches in use in Grand Harbour used between custom house quay and the the naval hospital in Bighi, but they were totally different painted with a black hull ,white upperworks and a tall funnel. About 60 years ago my mother used to take us on them to visit my father in Bighi hospital.
They sure not looked like this sleek streamlined one.

Emmanuel, that would be very much appreciated. I also like the new colours of the former hospital launch. Cheers Tony.

Hi Tony,
I will try to keep you posted(no pun intended) by posting any more info or pics of this particular vessel.

Emmanuel

Emmanuel, thanks for the updates, very much appreciated. Will investigate other possible avenues to try and fid the missing links. Here in Devonport she would have been SD SWIFT before sale by Damen Trading on behalf of Serco at Devonport.

Hi Tony,
May I add that on Marine traffic.com her UK call sign was MWYF3.This may help you for what it is worth.
As you can see from the other pics she is now registered in Valletta.

Hi Tony,
on 23 April 2012 I photographed this same vessel at Kalkara boatyard. She had the same colour scheme but without the red stripes she is now sporting with the white stripe. She also had a crest with a sort of crossed scimitars over a knight bust.Underneath that lifebelt she also had a board with the lettering "available for charter"
The name in small letters MGG SWIFT was painted on the extreme part of the bow.The other name ECC SWIFT was on name boards leaning on the boat which was in a photo I found on some site which I am sorry to say I forgot where.
regards Emmanuel.

Emmanuel, this is the former 45ft Admiralty Pilot Boat SWIFT which had an Admiralty Motor Boat Number of 8304 and spent most of her operational career at Devonport Naval base.

You mention previous names as MGG and ECC SWIFT which are new to me.

I was last told she was undergoing conversion into this livery on the River Itchen last July and therefore it comes as a surprise to see her in Malta.

Any further information you have on her current owners and intentions would be very much appreciated.

Cheers Tony.
