Hi Regin
The Vestmanna "Kap Farvel" I had in mind might as well be this one
http://krea.fo/birgir/main/default.asp?id={576F3FB3-9BE2-48D6-888F-0E7066E6309D}
but it is older, so that track was not the right one... :-)

Hi Regin

Yes this vessel comes from our part of the world.
The keel was laid in 1975 at Holen Mek. Verksted in Norway as nb no. 1.
In 1976 it was outfitted and delivered from Søviknes Verft as newbuilding no. 82.
Don't know the first name and homeport, but it ended up in New Zealand as "Kap Farvel". In 2003 it came under Australian flag and kept the name.
Have an idea it perhaps always been named "Kap Farvel"...
Once there was a sterntrawler in Vestmanna with that name...??

Regards
Ole..

Hi. It was the name "Kap Farvel" that caught my interest. This could indicate that she was from my part of the world.
