Yes I noticed the crowd on the fo'c's'le Rick, it's one of the things that make this pic so nostalgic.
I bet many members on this site can remember the excitement of admiring the view as you arrived in port, so many things to see and do!
Regards Tony.

Ok, thanks Chris, now I read the script again and see that the pic was taken by David Kirby of Hobart - so, one assumes, taken from a bridge at Hobart! Thanks, Rick

Rick

I think she is on charter to BHP of Australia, but the colurs might have faded so could also be ANL of Australia.

Agree with all the comments so far Chris. A super image. Did you notice the four crew leaning over the bulwarks on the port side of the fo'c's'le; one on the starboard side, and Harry Tate (maybe) walking up the main deck, forward, ready to drop the hook?? Starboard anchor walked out. Is that a courtesy flag on the foremast, or pilot on board? Try as I might, I cannot guess where this photo was taken. A very long shot guess might be that with the Wilhelmsen charter (funnel colours) that it could be in Norway...maybe Tomas of Brevik Bridge might try a guess!
Thanks for this one!
Regards, Rick

Thank goodness for Russell & David Kirby for allowing you to post these remarkable images of vessels from bygone days. This image would have to be a classic
I saw service on a number of Park, Fort, and Oceans in those times. Thanks again Chris for these.

Yes, a very good indeed photo Chris.
It seems like she is steaming from below straight into the camera!

Yes this angle gives a good view of the for'deck, love these old park boats.
