After making a comment about this ship on Chris Howell's posting of her picture, I remembered I had taken a photo when I saw her. This was taken in the English Channel in early 1966 from the London Tradition when both vessels Westbound.

Thanks for the info Pacifico. I had a look around and in the Department of Trade returns for 1975 she is listed as CTL and scrapped after stranding on December 26th 1975. The returns make very interesting reading as a whole. See:

Patalavaca: I wonder why this SHELL company long term chartered tanker (long term !!) did not have anyhow on her, the SHELL company insignia with the traditional looking yellow shell fitted onto the red colored funnel.
Can you maybe provide an adequate answer to this query?

Excellent image David & she is looking very clean indeed here. I suspect that she is not lomg out of drydock from the condition of the hull...and in those days Shell ships (of which she was long term chartered to)often used Cammell Laird's @ Birkenhead... I wonder.
