Thanks submariner,
That is what I wanted to know. I expected that she'd been transferred in from some other family concern. Regards, Dave |

Was she maybe a 16,000 DWT crude oil tanker?
A really good "lady" of those very years; and again a very good photo David of the "oldies"; looking forward to receive some more pleasures from you! Bgrds/Jadran |

Pieter,
Thanks for the information. What puzzles me is who owned her before she belonged to Mayfair Tankers. Mayfair tankers came into existence some years after Virginia was built. It was created under the Greek flag to take advantage of lower taxes and many of the old LOF vessels were moved over and had their names changed. Regards, David |

Hi David, couldn't agree more with your sentiments...On Shipspotting everybody, with any interest, can see them & reminisce. Great tanker days!

Hi Rick.
Glad to be making you happy, I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of posting them. I scanned them in and finished about five years ago. I got them all organised and was going to set up my own website but never got round to it. I've now decided that it is way too much hassle and in any case they'll get a wider audience if I just post them here. Cheers, Dave |

| London Tradition was also built by Furness in 1957 (yard 476), but was a slightly larger ship. |

I suspect it is 5381899, bult by Furness in 1957, (yard 483) later renamed Virginia M. ,snd broken up by Brodaspas, Split (YU) in 1977
