Built 1966 by Lithgows Ltd., Scotland, as WESTMORLAND for the Federal Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., part of the P&O group. Her 3 sister ships, TAUPO, TEKOA and TONGARIRO, were delivered to the New Zealand Shipping Co., another P&O group company. Became FARES REEFER in 1980 then, in 1983, purchased by the Vestey group and registered to Dunstan Shipping Co., Hong Kong. As BEACON HILL she looks handsome despite 3 lots of boot-topping on show.
