Aleksi, thanks for you big compliment, it's much appreciated!:-)
I didn't know either that reefers carried cars, but I wonder if they just took the opportunity not to sail empty or if it's an... how to express this?... act of desperation? I've got the impression that reefers are a dying breed with all the container ships carrying more and more reefer containers...

All the best,
Jens

A splendid photo Jens, I never knew reefers carried cars too! It's wise of course so they don't need to sail empty! Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,
Aleksi

Tino, I know what you mean, el platano de las Islas Canarias es más pequeño! :-D

Seaway7228, of course you may be right, my description is a bit polemic. Her destination was Cotonou, Benin. Don't know if they're exporting bananas...

Cornelia, I went there, too... and it's quite embarrassing for me! After I had taken my photos of Baltic Stream I had a more thorough look around and saw Najad and... Jan-Dirk. That's when I realized that this was Krautsand... I would have called you up then, but I didn't have my cell-phone with me. Think I'm getting old and disoriented...:-O

Used cars southbound, bananas northbound I suppose.

Grounded off Krautsand indeed, went there today and took a few photos: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1613282

I just read she grounded on the river Elbe near Drochtersen after she left Hamburg last night or this morning. Tugs Wolf and Bugsier 15 are assisting her. She seems to have suffered main engine trouble before the grounding...
