lajeeper,
Thank you for adding the above information. It is great to know she wasn't scrapped. For others reading this, see http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1629440 for lajeeper's update on her situation. Best Regards, Dave |

| The City of Baton Rouge was a center paddlewheel boat The steam engins where built by Gillett and Eaton Company in 1915 and are currently in the stemboat Julia Belle Swain. The City of Baton Rouge hull #1050 is still afloat and is used by the Riverboat Twilight as a dock. The engins are recipocating engins rated at 200 hp each The piston has a 5 foot stroke. |

| I had a word with the guy who has the historicalbatonrouge site. He said he didn't have a picture of the ferry on his site because they are all copyrighted. So I gave him a free licence to mine. Now following the link will display his copy of the above photo. |

This photo has intrigued me over the years, as did the ferry itself when I first saw it. It looked so old I was half expecting to see Noah on the bridge. So I did a bit of digging around and it seems it might have a quiet place in history, as it appears to be an original.
