Term 'Spanish Liberties' had never been used for Spanish built Freedom standard freighters. Together with British SD 14 design Freedom is the most successful Liberty replacement ship. It's a brainchild of designers GTR Campbell & Co. and Japanese shipbuilders IHI. The first one was delivered in July 1967. The license was sold to Spanish shipbuilder Astilleros de Cadiz and the first two vessels GETALDIC and GUNDULIC were delivered in 1969 to Yugoslavia. These ships are known as Freedom-Hispania due to the slight difference to the original design. Few Freedom-Hispania vessels were built for Chileans at Argentinean yard Astilleros Alianza.

The thereof built Spanish "LIBERTIES" known as FREEDOM TYPE were highly more popular and successful on the marine market at that time ( 70s - 80s).
Sorry, for maybe, any emotional unconvenience cased to anybody by the fact of my comment.
