In my deepest mind I am always keeping the legendary event of the dreadful maritime disaster, 1956 " the lucky STOCKHOLM & the unfortunate ANDREA DORIA".
Emmanuel.L on Aug 05, 2012 11:19 (9 months ago)
I remember reading that a passenger from the ANDREA DORIA was found on the STOCKHOLM (now ATHENA ) .The bows of the Stockholm having just rammed exactly under his cabin bunk and deposited him on her focsle.A very lucky passenger indeed.

Except of course that it was not these bows that cut open the Andrea Doria. Those bows were totally destroyed in that accident and the whole forward part of her hull had to be rebuilt.

her knife like bows have sliced thru many seaways since cutting open the Andrea Doria! mrdot.
