| @tvtech; probably I may agree with you, or better - if someone offers me one of these for present, I'll accept. Btw, many tug-men would like to sail on design like this. |

If I had the money, I would buy one of these.
Ugly maybe....but totally go anywhere at the drop of a hat. My vote for ship design of the Decade. Regards, tvtech |

| Kind of like a 4X4 for the sea. All weather conditions are no problem. A tug on steroids complete with comfortable living areas. |

Here is the real story about these ugly boats:

TY Lappino for the very fine response on this page.
But what is yr sole opinion of her lookings? That would be very great to know also! |
| Luko P. on Aug 08, 2012 11:38 (10 months ago) |
| It is only a matter of time until our eyes get used to these things. That is what once told me furniture seller when I was complaining on design of offered furniture. Same is probably valid for yachts, vessels, buildings, cars... Just look around you. But. we will survive all this; so my friends stay cool, be happy and enjoy shipspotting. |
| lappino on Aug 08, 2012 11:09 (10 months ago) |
| ...some people think she's ugly, and some think she's...very ugly. In any case, her looks got us talking...:) |
| Dеnis on Aug 08, 2012 10:46 (10 months ago) |
| But the "yacht" is so ugly, a tug with same hull would look more beautiful. |

"millennium topic, a future projected design, great individual character"
Marketing tools & nothing more. Same as so called "Groot Cross Bow". |

Luko P. :
The most nowday fresh enthusiastic "designers" always say/point-out/stress the same wordings for their personal made work/creation: millennium topic, a future projected design, great individual character, etc. Sometimes their efforts - are true rubbish; like in this case!! |

| Id love a yacht but Id be embarrassed to be seen on this. awful looking thing |
| Luko P. on Aug 08, 2012 09:35 (10 months ago) |
| Some of us do not like and some may like design of this vessel. Designers are describing her as a ship with great character... And I'm pretty sure this kind of boats, ugly or not, will be even more often seen at seas. http://www.oceanking.it/ocean_king_88/ocean_king_features.php |

Denis:
Sorry to revert about yr response to Clive, but you already indirectly said in your first comment that IRIE MAN is not a very good thing at all (maybe awful in any way), therefore you entered her immediately into your folder UGLY SHIPS. Respectfully submitted/Jadran |

phantom53: You have shot the essence of this issue into it's center!!
I must slightly correct the wording of my previous comment for the sake of clear understanding (a metaphor): "The ever best superb topic yachts ever built are the IRIE MAN & GARCON". |
| Dеnis on Aug 07, 2012 21:53 (10 months ago) |
| Speaking of that GARCON that invaded the site today, I only now noticed she's a yacht after redding these comments. |

Clive, really? That's a laugh! Go look at any small fishing vessels from, say, Norway & tell me how they're "an awful sea-boats because they are so short".

| phantom53 on Aug 07, 2012 21:46 (10 months ago) |
| I have to say that the designer(s)of the IRIE MAN & GARCON had to be on some sort of serious mind altering substances to come up with these "stunning beauties" |
| Luko P. on Aug 07, 2012 21:36 (10 months ago) |
| Well, when you look at some tug (eg. http://cdn2.shipspotting.com/photos/middle/0/1/6/1532610.jpg) and then imagine adding some extra box-shaped accommodation spaces, some open deck for sunbathing etc - there comes tug-like yacht. |
| Clive Harvey on Aug 07, 2012 21:19 (10 months ago) |
|
Denis, when you and I disagree we disagree, big time! But some times we speak with one voice - like now!
That is a most odd-looking vessel. She looks as though she would be an awful sea-boat because she is so short. In fact she looks as though someone left her out in the rain and as a result, she shrunk! |

"The ever best exclusive topic yachts ever built are the IRIE MAN & GARCON".
|
| Luko P. on Aug 07, 2012 20:57 (10 months ago) |
| That is what happens when there is no significant difference in design of tug, barge, yacht, container... whatsoever; name it. |
