Yes, classic ships Phil. I read somewhere that the 'les' part of the name on many of these ships means 'wood' or 'timber' in Russian. Not too sure though as Russian isn't my strongest point.

Thanks for the comment Derek. Yes, I remember seeing a few of these on the Thames too, usually with timber cargoes. It was probably from there where they went to Ipswich to load grain :-)

Good one Phil, I thought that these were great looking ships. Used to see a few of them picking up grain cargoes in Ipswich. Not a trade they were built for!
