Former names: Nieuwe Waterweg and Viking.
HELENA JAYNE SAILED FROM PORT OF SPAIN ON 11/2/96 WITH A CARGO OF CONCRETE BLOCKS AND GENERAL COMMODITES. 28 MILES NORTH OF FIRST BOCAS
VESSEL ENCOUNTERED ROUGH SEAS AND STRONG WINDS AND CAPSIZED AND SANK. MAYDAY ALLEGEDLY SENT, BUT NOT RECEIVED BY COAST STATIONS. ALL 8 CREW
TOOK TO LIFERAFTS AND WERE RESCUED TEN HOURS AFTER VESSEL WAS LOST BY MV ULLA DORTE. ACCIDENT REPORTED TO TRINIDAD AUTHORITIES BUT NOT TO MAIB.
