Huddart & Parker's trans-Tasman passenger ship Wanganella. 9,877/32.Built by Harland & Wolff at Belfast as Achimota for Elder Dempster, she was purchased while on the stocks and served Huddart & Parker until 1961.
1961 sold but not renamed to Mcllwraith McEacharn as shown.
1962 sold to Hang Fung Hong Kong
1963 sold to Utah Constructions
1963 - 1970 Hostel at Deep Cove, Fiordland, NZ

Great shot Chris, good to see u back mate, u been missed,the wharf area shown in this pic is of my old stamping ground, I used to lived just up above on Observatory Hill

Wharf operations at Walsh Bay effectively ceased in the 1970s. A Masterplan for Walsh Bay embraced a wide range of uses and features and breathed new life back into the Precinct. Pier 2/3 has been carefully repaired and returned to public ownership for cultural, exhibition and convention uses. Other wharves are similarly now a good contributor to current community uses.
