|Rederi Ab Nidarholm Laivanvarustamo Oy (Oliver Borg) of Turku's 1944-8 Oskarashamn built FURUHOLM is seen passing Hochdonn westbound on the Kiel Canal during a voyage from Ykspihlaja, Finland, to Italy.
Launched at Oskarshamn in 1944 as GLÜCKAUF for Kohlenimport u.Poseidon Schiffahrts AG of Konigsberg, she had traded in peacetime up to 1960 as SKARPO and then as WASALAND before taking the name FURUHOLM in 1966.
Oscar Fernandez of Miami purchased her in 1971 but, renamed HIGH SEAS EXPRESS, she foundered on 7th November 1972 during a voyage from Belem to Mobile with a cargo of logs.
