This funnel was easy for shipspotters! I remember sailing on the North Sea in the sail trainer EENDRACHT back in '95, we could see the DANA ANGLIA's funnel stick out over the horizon, rest of the vessel could not be seen!

What would justify the funnel being that height, certainly not for aethstetic appeal.
