Preserved as the tourist attraction at Yamashita Park in Yokohama since Jun. 1961.
One of few ocean liners in Japan that survived WW2.

During WW2;
Served as a hospital ship
After WW2;
Mostly served for Kobe - Nagoya - Shimizu - Yokohama - Seattle - Vancouver Service until Oct.2, 1960

Great old ship !
I visited her in february 1983 during a 2 weeks visit of Japan.
Unfortunately all my taken photos got spoiled by bringing out the film of the camera.
So your photo is a good memory for me.
