Hi Tony, a fine picture of Suva ships.
The vessel in the background is the Cable & Wirless owned 'Retriever'. IMO 5293494. Built in 1961 by Cammell laird, Birkenhead, England (1302) as:- 'Retriever' to 1995 & 'Riever' until she arrived at Alang for demolition on 17/04/1995. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ See here for some details & comparison:- http://atlantic-cable.com/Cableships/Retriever(5)/index.htm I saw her at Suva several times in the early 1980's as I believe she was the Cable & Wireless standby vessel for the Pacific / Oceania areas.
