KAIWO MARU just came back from the massive damage on driving ashore by the typhoon on Oct.20, 2004.
She prepares for the training voyage that is to begin on Jan.10.

World Ship Society’s Marine News December 2004 Vol. 58 No.12: “KAIWO MARU 2,238/30 – sail training vessel owned by Hansen Kaio Maru Kinen Zaidan Japan. Grounded 21/10/2004 on a breakwater at Toyama during typhoon “ Tokage” and some 167 people including 102 trainees were evacuated.”
